Federico Nicola Aschieri
I'm a composer from Italy, currently living in Vienna. While at a young age I had a passion for writing and poetry, at university I studied mathematics and computer science, becoming eventually a researcher in the field. After moving across Europe because of my profession, I ended up in Vienna, where later on I became fascinated by orchestral music and began to study classical music composition. To me classical music was a language that made possible to connect my logical mind with the artistic soul that I always had, but that in science didn't have free expression. Indeed, few people know that what make mathematicians love mathematics is the beauty and perfection of mathematical objects. Pursuing beauty also through music was thus a natural step for me, since music is a mathematically precise language as well.
After obtaining a solid foundation in classical music, I decided to get a graduate degree from the Film Scoring Academy of Europe, because the natural continuation of the classical music that I love (Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven, Dvořák...) seemed to be film music. My artistic aim is to write emotional as well as energetic music with melodies, harmony and orchestral textures inspired from classical music, film music and rock music, using composition techniques and forms inherited from classical music, and arriving at new personal architectures that evolve and vary with each piece I compose.
